Thinking Globally, Coding Locally

I didn't really get that I was good at learning languages until I served in the Peace Corps with my wife and learned Cabo Verdean Kriolu and then West African French (and a little Fon) over 2 years. To be a successful web professional you need to know different web languages, and I have and continue to learn many of them.

I Cities

Cities are vibrant and diverse places and that's something I really value. I've been lucky to visit many cool urban environments like Tokyo, Bangkok, Paris, Rome, and San Francisco to name a few. But I'm truly lucky to have lived in NYC for many years. Now that I'm a father of TWO, we've relocated to the wonderful Windy City--Chicago! The summers are great, winters are cold, but it helps being close to family.

Sports

As a midwest transplant, I love College Football (Go Spartans!) but I also picked up a love for the REAL football, and I've been a Manchester City supporter since 2008. To further prove my charmed life, City has won two titles in my 6 years of fandom, after going 44 years without an EPL crown. I gave NYCFC a chance while I was in NYC, but now that I'm in Chicago, I'm a Fire supporter.
