Web Professional

I'm not a "Ninja" nor do I carry myself like a "Rockstar". What I am is someone who lives by ABL: Always Be Learning. I like to look under the hood of things. I like to hack things (like my Kindle). And I strive to code things semantically and clean so that they are maintainable. I'm not afraid to make mistakes and always look to learn from those that I make.

Communication

Open and honest: I work best with people who value this kind of communication. When I work on a problem, I look to see it from different angles. When I encounter disagreement, I want to understand where the other side is coming from. People have told me I'm easy to work with and I take that as a compliment.

Web Development

I've worked as a Web Designer, a Web Developer, an Entrepreneur, a Interface Specialist, and a Front-end Developer. I feel at home in XHTML, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, and Wordpress. I work with PHP, though I need to improve writing it. I'm also on a mission to master vanilla Javascript rather than relying on jQuery. I think API's are awesome and like figuring them out.

Volunteer

I served under the Community Economic Development wing of the US Peace Corps as both an Information and Communication Technology volunteer and Business Development volunteer. I got to do both in one tour thanks to Peace Corps graduating my first post and moving me and my wife to a second post.

Since before I served and after I returned, I volunteer with New York Cares. Check them out if you live in NYC and want to give back!
